Young People's Literature Celebration

Award winning author and anthropologist Laura Resau is coming to Telluride as part of Wilkinson Public Library's Youth Literature Celebration on October 15th and 16th. She'll be visiting the schools to work with students, teaching workshops on creative writing and presenting a community program that celebrates multiculturalism.
WPL's Teen Book Club is reading Red Glass in September and October.

Let Your Story Soar: Young Adult Fiction WorkshopWriting Workshop for Teens & Adults
October 16th, 1-4 PM Wilkinson Public Library, Telluride Room
Laura Resau will lead you through the journey of writing a YA novel, from lifting off to flying over clouds. You’ll learn how to turn ideas into stories, create vivid worlds, develop strong voices, construct engaging plots, build powerful emotional arcs, and do effective revisions. Bring a pen and paper, and feel yourself sprout wings during fun exercises designed to make your characters and setting come alive.
Transcending Borders with Laura Resau
Community Celebration of Multiculturalism
October 16th, 5-8 PM Wilkinson Public Library Youth Area & Program Room
Join Laura Resau to celebrate our community as we focus on multiculturalism. Laura’s books deal with issues of immigration, integration and diversity in a way that values distinct cultural traditions while underscoring the universal nature of humanity. Laura will talk about her work as an anthropologist and how this perspective informs her writing. Food will be served from 5-6 and childcare provided during the presentation. This program will be in English and Spanish.
